News
It has been a very successful season for Welsh International clay target shooter Neil Jones from N.J. Guns in Builth Wells.
On 17th and 18th August 2007 he represented the Welsh team in Olympic Trap. He was number 2 in the ranking. The International took place in Loch Ness Gun Club in Scotland over the two days. The Welsh team came third. Mike Wixey from Abergavenny was high gun for Wales.
On 7th and 8th September 2007 he again represented Wales as part of the Welsh Automatic Ball Trap team. He was number 4 in the ranking. This international took place in the International Shooting Ground in Ashbourne, Dublin. The Welsh team came fourth. Martin Haywood from Abergavenny was high gun for Wales.
Neil was then selected for the Commonwealth Shooting Federation European Championships which was held in Jersey on the 29th and 30th September 2007.
The Welsh team did exceptionally well during the event. Andrew Harris from Abergavenny took the individual Gold medal, Martin Haywood took the individual Silver medal and Neil took the individual Bronze medal. They also did very well in the two-man team, which Andrew Harris and Neil took Silver medals.
Mike Jay and Roger Harridence took the Bronze medal in the pairs in Olympic Skeet.
